WebGL CORS requirements question

The documentation on WebGL networking discusses CORS [here][1], and states:>Basically any WWW request to a server which is different from the server hosting the WebGL content needs to be authorized by the server you are trying to access. Is this accurate? When dealing with the WebPlayer plugin and CrossDomain policies, that was only if the required resource was on a different domain, not just another server. So, if I have my WebGL content on https://mygame.abc.com and have a web service running at https://myservice.abc.com, then do I need to have CORS setup?
